Samsung had huge expectations from the Galaxy S24 series. The tech improvements coupled with Galaxy AI provided the series with a solid platform to exhibit stellar performance. It appears that the new flagship lineup is performing in line with the company's expectations.
Nearly a week after it started taking pre-orders for the new series, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S24 lineup has received the highest-ever pre-orders for any Galaxy S series in the company's home country of South Korea.
Koreans can't get enough of the Galaxy S24 series!
Samsung confirmed that pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 series have topped 1.21 million units in South Korea. These are the highest pre-order figures for any Galaxy S flagship in the country. Last year's Galaxy S23 series marked a turnaround for the lineup, amassing 1.09 million pre-orders in the country over the pre-order week. That was also the highest-ever figure and it's now been comfortably overtaken by the Galaxy S24 lineup.
Perhaps surprising no one, Samsung also confirmed that 60% of these 1.21 million pre-orders were for the top-of-the-line Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24+ came in second place with 21% and the base Galaxy S24 got 19% of the pre-orders. Titanium Black has proven to be the most popular color for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
There were already signs that the Galaxy S24 would get a huge wave of pre-order interest. South Korean carriers were reporting that more people had turned up in stores to check out the Galaxy S24 in person. They would have likely been intrigued by all of the Galaxy AI features, which undoubtedly remain one of the top reasons why you should pick up on of these flagship models.
Strong pre-order performance is also being shown by the Galaxy S24 series in other markets across the globe. Samsung would be hoping that the Galaxy S24 series hits the predicted total annual sales figure of 36 million units by the end of this year, making it the first flagship since 2019's Galaxy S10 to sell more than 30 million units.
