While Samsung's latest foldables and next year's Galaxy S25 lineup are grabbing eyeballs, the company is reminding us about the Galaxy S24 Ultra and how it has the most pro-grade camera setup of any Galaxy phone.

In a new press release rehashed from a press release it published in March, Samsung talks about all the features that make the Galaxy S24 Ultra so good for photography enthusiasts. Unsurprisingly, Samsung starts off by talking about the high-resolution camera sensors.

Galaxy S24 Ultra has the most potent camera setup of any Galaxy flagship

The Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts a 200MP primary camera that was first seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It also has a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto lens, which replaces the 10MP 10x zoom camera found on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, and S23 Ultra.

This 50MP lens offers increased detail in long-range zoom shots and, like the primary camera, also supports 8K video recording (no other flagship Galaxy phone supports 8K recording on more than one camera).

In addition to 8K video recording on two rear cameras, the S24 Ultra is the only Samsung phone that can record 4K videos at 120 fps. It also supports Portrait Video mode for cinematic bokeh videos, though this feature has been available on flagship Galaxy phones since 2019.

Samsung also highlights Nightography, a fancy word for the behind-the-scenes shenanigans that enable the phone to capture high-quality pictures in low-light conditions. Thanks to a larger sensor and pixel size on the 5x telephoto compared to the 10x telephoto from previous phones, nighttime photos are particularly better at 5x and higher magnification.

The photos captured by the Galaxy S24 Ultra can be run through Galaxy AI's Generative Edit feature. Generative Edit lets you reposition and remove objects and people from photos and can fill up the existing space occupied by those objects and people with AI-generated content.

Generative Edit isn't exclusive to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and all flagship phones Samsung has launched since 2022 support it as well. It's part of the Galaxy AI suite that was introduced with One UI 6.1 earlier this year.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra got features like Portrait Studio and Sketch to Image with the recently released One UI 6.1.1 update. Portrait Studio lets you convert selfies and photos of people into artistic portraits, while Sketch to Image can turn your simple doodles into works of art.
