Samsung has gradually been updating its apps with support for Android 8.0 Oreo so that they're fully compatible with the next major platform update whenever it's rolled out. The company has now updated PENUP for Galaxy Note 8 with support for Oreo. It has previously updated apps like Samsung Focus, Samsung Music and Samsung Connect with support for Android 8.0.

Samsung PENUP

For those who are unaware, Samsung launched the PENUP social networking service four years ago to allow Galaxy Note users to promote the art they made using the S Pen on their Galaxy Note device.

The idea is simple, draw with the S Pen to express your feelings and personality in a way that photos and writings can't, then share your creations in the app to get feedback from like-minded people. The PENUP app also provides tips on how to create amazing works of art using the S Pen with the extensive collection of brushes and effects on offer.

PENUP comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Note 8 like it did on previous devices in this family. Samsung has released version 2.9.00.14 of the app on the Google Play Store and the changelog confirms it now has support for Android 8.0 Oreo.

This is obviously not an indication that the Galaxy Note 8 Android 8.0 Oreo update will be out soon, Samsung still hasn't been able to do that properly for the Galaxy S8, but it does show that at least the wheels are in motion.

The updated PENUP app is now available for download from the Google Play Store and our APK page.
