Samsung has several large manufacturing facilities across the globe, and one of the biggest is located in Noida, India. The first unit was set up in Noida back in 1995 where the company used to make television sets.
It has continued to make investments in the plant and it's one of Samsung's largest mobile phone manufacturing units. The company also makes other products at its Noida complex, include OLED panels for smartphones. Another product category will soon be manufactured here as well, the company has confirmed today.
Samsung will start producing laptops in India this year
Samsung has announced that it will soon start making laptops at its Noida factory in India. The confirmation comes from none other than TM Roh, the head of Samsung's MX business. He's said that preparations for laptop production in India are now underway, and that production will begin this year.
TM Roh is on a visit to India which has gradually become a very important manufacturing base for Samsung. The company has received incentives from state and central governments, with Samsung committed to continue cooperation with governments to further expand its manufacturing facilities in the country.
Roh added that Noida is the second-largest production base for Samsung and that even as some changes may be made at the plant to optimize production based on global demand for its products, the facilities status as an important production base for the company remains unchanged. This is also highlighted by the fact that Samsung's newest flagship, the Galaxy S24 series, is also being manufactured in Noida.
