Samsung has been making not only its products but also the whole supply chain more environmentally friendly over the past few years. As a result, the company has started receiving various green awards from notable institutions. Now, the South Korean firm has received 11 new green awards.
According to Samsung, 11 of its products have received the ‘Green Product Of The Year 2022' award in South Korea. The products that have received this award include Samsung's Neo QLED TV lineup, Ultrasound System V7, The FreeStyle portable projector, BESPOKE Grande AI washing machine, ViewFinity S8 monitor, BESPOKE Windless Air Conditioner, and 4-Door BESPOKE Refrigerator.
The awards were announced by the Korean non-profit civic group Green Purchasing Network, and the products are adjudged not only by experts but also by consumer panels. Samsung's products that have received this award reduce the use of single-use plastic and maximize the use of ocean-bound and recycled plastic. The refrigerator and washing machine use extremely low power.
Kim Hyung-nam, VP of Samsung Electronics Global CS Center, said, “Samsung Electronics reviews and improves various environmental aspects such as energy efficiency, resource circulation, and hazard reduction from the product design stage. We will continue to work hard to continue doing that.”
