The world's leading TV manufacturer, Samsung Electronics, has bagged yet another certification that goes in line with the company's “Going Green” vision. Notably, in an official announcement, Samsung revealed that its 2022 Neo QLED TVs have received the “Reducing CO2” certification from Carbon Trust, for reducing the carbon footprint in its products.
The Carbon Trust is a global climate consultancy with a mission to decarbonize the future. And the “Reducing CO2” certification signifies that the product's carbon footprint is decreasing year on year. The Carbon Trust evaluates how much greenhouse gas is generated throughout the entire product lifecycle by using internationally recognized standards.
Samsung's 2022 TV lineup, including three Neo QLED 8K models, three Neo QLED 4K models, two QLED models, two Lifestyle TV models, and one Crystal UHD TV model, managed to win the “Reducing CO2” certification by reducing the weight and power consumption during usage. During Samsung’s keynote event at CES 2022, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Device eXperience (DX) Division, Jong-Hee (JH) Han, unveiled the “Together for Tomorrow” vision.
As a part of this vision, Samsung will use 30 times more recycled plastic to produce its display products. For Samsung's other sustainable moves, you can check out the official announcement.
