Samsung partnered with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to launch the Samsung Global Goals (SGG) app in 2019. Users can donate the earnings generated from lock screens and watching ads to the Global Goals via this app. Now, Samsung has added a new feature to the Global Goals app, opening new opportunities to engage the community.
In an official blog post, the new Global Goals feature is called the ‘Donation Leaderboard.' This new app feature will give rankings based on the donations a community member has provided. Samsung believes the rankings will motivate the Galaxy community to donate to goals.
$10 million has already been raised via Samsung's Global Goals app
Users can track donation progress using this new Donation Leaderboard and encourage friends, family, and other members to donate to the Global Goals. The Galaxy community can access the Donation Leaderboard from the Donate section of the Samsung app. You can see how much you have contributed to specific Global Goals and track your donation ranking.
Just a few months ago, the Samsung Global Goals app achieved a new milestone of $10 million in donations raised so far through the app. This amount was donated to help UNDP promote resilience and accelerate progress toward the goals. To give the Galaxy community extra motivation, Samsung hopes this new ‘Donation Leaderboard' will help. The most donated goals within the app are Goal 2: Zero Hunger, followed by Goal 1: No Poverty, and Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
