We reported last month that Samsung was going to expand its budget smartphone portfolio in the coming weeks. It has several new affordable models in the pipeline and the Galaxy A04s is one of them.
It wasn't known initially which chipset might be powering what might be one of the best cheap Android phones in 2022. New information has surfaced which reveals that the Galaxy A04s will use the Exynos 850 chipset.
Galaxy A04s shares its processor with the Galaxy A13
Some fan-made renders of the Galaxy A04s appeared online recently, giving us a glimpse of what this device may look like. Some reports suggest that the device may have an Infinity-V display, a triple-camera setup at the back, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device will most likely come with Android 12 installed out of the box.
The Galaxy A04s has now surfaced on Geekbench. Its listing reveals that the device is powered by the Exynos 850 chipset. Its paired with 3GB of RAM. This is the same chipset that's used in devices like the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy M13.
There's also talk about the Galaxy A04s being a JDM device. That's quite possible, given that Samsung is increasingly outsourcing the production of its cheap devices to Chinese partners. This helps the company improve its margins on low-end devices.
