
Samsung desperately needs growth in many areas of its business. Even the conglomerate's heir is now saying that the company finds itself in a do or die situation. These goals may only materialize with the help of highly motivated and trained talent that enables Samsung to weather the storm.
To that end, The company is now going to establish a new employee training center at its hub in Suwon, South Korea, to further improve its in-house training and nurture talent for future growth.
Training's have become central to Samsung's mission
Korean media is reporting that this training center will span 10,000 square meters across two stories. The structure will have practice rooms, lecture halls, and seminar spaces. It's going to be built at Suwon, an important site for Samsung, as it's home to the Device eXperience division which is responsible for smartphones, home appliances, and TVs.
Samsung already has four existing employee training centers with three located in Yongin and one in Yeongdeok. The fact that it has now decided to built another training center at Suwon goes to show that the company is interested in developing talent systematically.
Trainings were previously focused mainly on core business interests like semiconductors, displays, and mobile devices. It now covers emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and smart factories in its trainings as well.
To further bolster these efforts, Samsung has revived a special leadership training program for local and international employees across all of its affiliate companies. This program has been brought back after nine years, highlighting the importance that Samsung attaches to leaving its workers better prepared to face the challenges of today.
