Samsung announced in September 2021 that its SmartThings Find service grew to 100 million “find nodes,” which are registered and opted-in devices that can help other Galaxy users find their misplaced phones, tablets, and wearables. Almost a year later, in July 2022, Samsung revealed that SmartThings Find reached 200 million nodes worldwide. And now, Samsung has just confirmed that its Find network added another 100 million users in less than a year.
SmartThings Find now has 300 million find nodes, thanks to 100 million additional registrations since July 2022. The platform achieved 1.5x growth in just ten months. And, of course, the wider the SmartThings Find network expands, the easier it is for Galaxy device users to find their misplaced phones, tablets, and wearables through the hundreds of millions of find nodes now available.
Through SmartThings Find, customers can locate a wide variety of Samsung devices, including phones and tablets, earbuds, and Galaxy Watches. And, evidently, users can also locate the Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+, as that's their sole purpose — to be tracked.
Jaeyeon Jung, Corporate Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, said “We’re thrilled to witness this fast growth in SmartThings Find. Our connected device ecosystem enables many new possibilities and meaningful benefits, such as alleviating the stress of misplacing a device and ensuring the safety of belongings.” This useful tool can even find devices that are offline.
Samsung released SmartThings Find in October 2020 after announcing the feature alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series. The Galaxy Note series has since been retired, but the SmartThings Find service is thriving.
