Samsung proves its security mettle with SmartThings ISO 27001 certification
Samsung has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its SmartThings smart home platform. The British Standards Institution (BSI) offers this certification to systems that meet its security and privacy standards across 123 aspects, including policies for data security, information asset access control, and incident response.
The South Korean firm has followed BSI's guidance to manage risks to information assets and achieve information protection goals for SmartThings Cloud. This recognition will further boost Samsung's credibility in data security and privacy.
So, millions of SmartThings users around the world can use Samsung's smart home system without any worries. SmartThings is one of the biggest smart home platforms in the world, and it is compatible with Amazon's Alexa, Google Home, and Matter. The system is secured by Samsung's Knox security suite.
Harold Pradal, President of Assurance Services at BSI, said, “The importance of cloud technology and information protection is increasing in a rapidly changing business environment. We recognized that the operation capability and security level of Samsung SmartThings are excellent.“
