Unlocked Galaxy Note 20 units get September 2023 security update in the US
The latest software update for the factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xU1UES5HWHC in the US. It is available on all carrier networks, including AT&T, Cricket, DISH, Metro PCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. It is a relatively small security update, so don't expect to see any new features after installing the new update.
If you have a factory-unlocked Galaxy Note 20 series phone and if you live in the US, you can now check for the new update right away. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy Note 20 series was launched with Android 10 onboard and has received three major Android OS updates over the years. It won't get the upcoming Android 14-based One UI 6 update. It will continue to get security updates, though.
