As you probably heard by now, on several occasions, the Android 13 beta testing period for the Galaxy S22 series has ended, and Samsung began updating the 2022 flagship lineup with One UI 5.0 earlier today. The update got released in South Korea and across Europe, and now, at least one carrier variant in the USA is getting the Android 13 treatment.
Verizon is now rolling out the One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S22 lineup in the United States. The update carries firmware version S908USQU2BVJA and includes the October 2022 security patch.
Same as everywhere else in the world, One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy S22 brings new lock screen customization options, contact and app exceptions to DND (Do Not Disturb) notification settings, more options in the Gallery app, an updated Bixby Routines app — now renamed “Modes and Routines” — a unified Security and Privacy tab in the Settings app, an updated Weather Widget, various tweaks to the Camera app, and more.
Verizon Galaxy S22 users in the United States should be able to download the new update upon receiving the notification. If it hasn't arrived yet, you can try triggering the update by opening the Settings app on the Galaxy S22, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”
T-Mobile customers may have to wait a little while longer before they can enjoy One UI 5.0 on the Galaxy S22. As of this writing, the update has a “developing” status on Magenta's network.
