New video shows what it’s like living with a Samsung AI vacuum

Samsung has released a new video starring the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo. The company gave the AI-powered vacuum cleaner four minutes of playtime on its YouTube channel. And it's a good thing it did. Because if you aren't familiar with Samsung's roaming robot vacuum cleaners, you will be surprised by just how clever these little things are!

The new Bespoke Jet Bot AI Introduction Film, as Samsung calls it, tries to show the experience of living with one of the company's smart vacuum cleaners. And this might be the best explanation of the Jet Bot's impressive capabilities to date.

The range of tasks Jet Bot AI can do is impressive

As you can see in the official video below, Samsung's Bespoke Jet Bot AI isn't just a roaming robot equipped with cameras and LiDAR to detect and vacuum around objects. In fact, it has many other automated functions aside from roaming and object detection — although those are also key components that seem to be working very well.

The Jet Bot AI can not only vacuum but also mop and steam floors, depending on which type of stains it detects. It can adjust itself automatically for hard floors and rugs. It knows when to unload dirt to the Jet Bot Station and can even wash and clean its pads when reaching the Station. The latter has its own washer compartments, and it's almost as clever as the vacuum itself.

Most of this apparent intelligence is enabled by Samsung's extensive use of AI, which can help Jet Bot discern between different floor types and cleaning surfaces, use versatile object recognition, and more.

Of course, the other key component to the Jet Bot experience is SmartThings — the mobile app through which users can remotely control and monitor the vacuum cleaner. Through the SmartThings app, Jet Bot can even let users know if their dog is barking, and users can ask the vacuum cleaner to play soothing music or turn on the TV for their pets.

Samsung's Bespoke products appear to have reached a level where they're more than the sum of their components. They're becoming a part of a powerful ecosystem of products, and for mobile users, everything comes together through the SmartThigns app.
