Finally, after 12 months of working towards unifying the OneNote and the OneNote for Windows 10 apps into a single app, it seems like the day has arrived. As per the latest reports, the Windows Store now only shows a single version of the Microsoft OneNote app. This also means that this single app brings the best of both worlds to your Samsung laptop.
It apparently brings the features of OneNote for Windows 10 along with a visual makeover as well. In a blog post, Microsoft revealed that OneNote for Windows 10 is no longer listed on the Windows Store. However, the app will continue to work, but it won't receive any new features moving forward. Also, the support will reach an end in October 2025.
There are some quick ways to launch the OneNote app introduced as well
If you still wish to download the OneNote for Windows 10 app version, then you use the direct link provided by Microsoft. Speaking of the features on the new standalone OneNote app, you get both the inking and dictation features, perfect for the Galaxy Book lineup with an active S Pen stylus. You also get a simplified single-line ribbon, making the interface feel clutter-free. Using this, you will be able to share your notebooks and even manage who has access to them.
There is a downside, though, as the new OneNote app doesn't feel as lightweight and touch-screen-friendly as the OneNote Windows 10 app. Microsoft is also introducing a quicker way to access the OneNote app. You can launch OneNote by pressing the Win + Alt + N buttons on your keyboard or launch it via the icon on the system tray.
Starting with Windows 11 2022 Update, you can also launch it directly from your pen. To take a note quickly, all you need to do is press the back of the pen. You can also double-click to launch the full version of the OneNote app.
