Google is adding some more features to YouTube Premium subscribers. The world's biggest video streaming service is getting more granular controls and is becoming more productive. It is also getting some AI-powered features. The company is also exploring more premium subscription plans.
YouTube Premium users get Jump Ahead, picture-in-picture for Shorts, and Conversational AI
YouTube now has a new feature called Jump Ahead, which uses analytical data to know which parts of a video are usually skipped by people and then offers you a shortcut to do the same thing with a press of a button.
The Jump Ahead button will appear on the bottom right corner of the screen when you double-press the video to skip ahead. This button is currently available only for users in the USA and is limited to YouTube Premium subscribers.
Google is also bringing picture-in-picture mode for YouTube Shorts videos. When you watch Short videos on YouTube, you can switch to other apps, and the short video will continue playing on top of other apps in a smaller floating window. YouTube is also enabling Smart Downloads for YouTube Shorts, so the app will keep those short videos downloaded that it thinks you would watch.

YouTube is also getting a feature called Conversational AI. You can use it to ask questions about the video you're watching. You don't need to watch the whole video to find the exact information you are looking for in the video. You can use it by tapping the ‘Ask' button below the video. Right now, the feature is available only in the USA.
Google has revealed that it is also bringing more experimental UI changes to YouTube on the web. Those changes will help you access related videos and easily engage with comments.
