Credit must be given where it's due. For the longest time, Samsung users waited in disbelief as other manufacturers did a better job of sending out updates. It took unnecessarily long for Samsung phones to get the same updates.

The sheer number of phones sold by the company didn't help. Neither did the carrier and region technicalities that held up the updates. Ultimately, despite buying the best Samsung phones, users had to wait for far too long to get an update.

We've highlighted before how Samsung has completely turned this around in just a couple of years. Samsung users have gone from envying others to being in an enviable position themselves. This goes to show how committed Samsung now is to elevating the update experience for its customers.

Android 12 One UI 4.0 is the latest update for compatible Samsung devices. The company has hit the ground running with the update. The Galaxy S21 series was the first to get the public Android 12 One UI 4.0 release in November 2021. Samsung got it out the door a full month earlier as the first stable Android 11 update was released for the Galaxy S20 series in December 2020.

This was a promising start. Samsung got done with the One UI 4.0 beta program in about two months. The company was then ready to start pushing out the stable update to users across the globe. As you'd expect, the update's release was warmly welcomed.

There's a whole list of Samsung devices compatible with Android 12. The expectation was that Samsung would gradually make its way through this list. Once the Galaxy S21 lineup got the update, the other devices would eventually get Android 12 One UI 4.0 as well in the months to come.

Samsung doesn't seem to be in a mood to keep customers waiting. Merely two weeks after the Galaxy S21 series got it, the Android 12 One UI 4.0 update was also released for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Both foldables have are now receiving the update in more markets as well. Today is a particularly great day for fans that have been waiting for a taste of One UI 4.0. Samsung has started rolling out Android 12 One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy S10, Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ now.

This is unprecedented pace that we're seeing from Samsung. No wonder Samsung has completely shamed Chinese smartphone makers, its biggest competitors, with its Android 12 rollout. Fans are happy that they can experience the latest software on their device before the year is up.

If this pace is any indication, we can expect a lot more devices to get their One UI 4.0 update in the days to come. Next month, we might see the update arriving for more devices in the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series. The original Galaxy Fold is in the mix as well. Dozens of Galaxy A and Galaxy M devices will eventually be updated too.

They have much to be excited about with this update. We've previously explained why Android 12 is extra special for Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Android 12 brings powerful new privacy features as well as performance improvements.

One UI 4.0 introduces enhanced personalization features and even includes support for Material You themes. Additional features include smart widget recommendations, revamped Camera app UI, enhancements to system-wide navigation and more.

Samsung is not wasting any time in getting this update out to as many people as possible. It's without a doubt a great New Year 2022 gift for the 100 million+ people who use Samsung devices compatible with Android 12. They can rest assured that it's only a matter of time before the update lands on their device.

As always, you can head over to our firmware database to download the latest updates for your Samsung devices.
