Samsung Electronics, the world's No. 2 mobile phones maker, said Thursday that the global sales of Galaxy S2, the tech firm's flagship smartphone, topped 20 million units 10 months after its debut.
According to an e-mailed statement by Samsung, more than 20 million units of Galaxy S2 smartphone model were sold at home and abroad since April last year when the product was rolled out.
Combined sales of Galaxy S2 and its predecessor model Galaxy S reached over 40 million units, contributing to Samsung's No.1 ranking in the global smartphone market last year, according to the statement.
Popularity of those models was mainly attributed to their outstanding features such as the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus, dual core processor and slim design, Samsung said.
