According to Korea Times, Apple may ask U.S. Federal Judge Lucy Koh to triple Samsung's damages when both the parties meet again at the judgment as a matter of law (JMOL) hearing. The jury last month ruled that Samsung willfully infringed some of the Apple patents and awarded the American company $1.05 billion in damages. Now using the same “willful infringement” argument, Apple will try to convince the judge to triple the damages to a whopping $3 billion.

On the other side, Samsung's lawyer, Mr. Quinn will be working to convince the judge to throw the jury's decision and if unsuccessful, appeal the decision.
