MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 13, 2013 – Samsung Canada, the leading supplier of mobile phones in the Canadian marketplace, today announced that the Samsung GALAXY MEGA will be available in the coming weeks – just in time for back to school. Perfect for students on the go, the GALAXY MEGA gives Canadians the best of both worlds by perfectly balancing the portability and convenience of a smartphone with the power, multitasking capabilities and extensive viewing experience of a tablet on a beautiful 6.3-inch HD screen.

“We are proud to introduce Canadians to the GALAXY MEGA – a device that will truly enable them to live large,” said Paul Brannen, Vice President Enterprise Business Division Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. “At Samsung, we have worked hard to ensure that we offer Canadians a broad variety of high quality mobile devices designed to meet their individual needs – which is why we are so excited to add the GALAXY MEGA to our line up.”

The GALAXY MEGA helps Canadians live large by ensuring they get the most out of one device. With a 6.3-inch HD screen – offering an exceptional viewing experience, and its thin, light design – perfect for portability, the GALAXY MEGA truly acts as both a smartphone and a tablet.

The GALAXY MEGA is the back to school accessory of choice:

Save time with Air View: Preview information in emails, photos in Gallery, and speed dial contacts.
Capture important memories: The enhanced 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, along with a variety of camera modes, including ‘Sound & Shot' (captures 9 seconds of sound and voice together as the picture is taken to capture moments) and ‘Sports' ensure you don't forget a single moment.
Catch this year's hottest TV shows with WatchON: Easily find your favourite TV shows or let the app recommend something for you. And if you've got a Samsung TV, you can use your GALAXY Mega to control the volume, change the channel and more.
Get more done with Multi Window/Split View: Run two apps on the same screen with Multi Window and take advantage of the Galaxy MEGA's large screen by using Split & Tablet view for applications such as Email, Messaging and S Planner.
