Samsung seems to have doubled its efforts lately on getting Tizen out to market, especially since the first Tizen smartphone is expected to launch in October. Just a day ago Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo's Tizen phone was confirmed, and now a device with model number SM-Z9005 has shown up in a shipping manifest. Some might think this is an Android device, but source code found earlier specifically listed it as a Tizen device, so that's what we're looking at here.
However, the SM-Z9005 might never make it to market as it is expected to be a developer device (which means only developers will get access). But again, the recent increase in info about Tizen gives a strong indication that yet another player is going to join the race of the mobile operating systems very soon, and with Samsung's marketing and financial might, it could give considerable competition to the current stalwarts (Android and iOS).
