So you wanted official confirmation that Samsung will announce both the Galaxy Note III and its Galaxy Gear smartwatch on September 4th? Well, you have it now, straight from the executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, Lee Young-hee, who also confirmed that the Galaxy Gear won't have a flexible display and will run on Android.
That's all the executive confirmed, but previous rumors already tell us what to expect from both devices. The Galaxy Gear will come in multiple colors, pair with Samsung's smartphones through Bluetooth and NFC, include a lot of sensors for use in applications like health tracking, and launch sometime in October.
As for the Galaxy Note III, the 5.68-inch phablet will sport a 1080p Super AMOLED display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 or octa-core Exynos 5420 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a microSD slot, 13-megapixel rear camera, a 3,200mAh battery, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. An S Pen will be included for pen input, and the device will start shipping in September.
So, just a week to go before Samsung unveils its next hero devices. Here's hoping we're greeted with awesomeness.
