India is one of the most important markets for Samsung and they confirmed it today by announcing their latest flagship devices – Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear for the Indian market. India will be one of the launch markets for Samsung when both devices will go on sale on Sep 25. Both devices cannot be considered as cheap but given the recent Dollar rates, we think Samsung is pricing it slightly higher to safeguard from the constantly changing rates.
The Galaxy Note 3 is priced at Rs. 49,900 and will feature the Exynos 5 Octa version since India is predominantly a 3G market. To give you a quick recap of the device, it comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory, Android 4.3 OS, better S Pen input, Wi-Fi, 13MP camera, 2MP front-facing camera, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and 3200mAh battery.
Samsung's work is on the software side that comes with Air Command – Samsung's latest feature for S Pen. Additionally, we've got Air View, Multi window, Samsung Hub, WatchON, Pop up Play etc.
Galaxy Gear was also announced today and will go on sale with the Galaxy Note 3. The companion smartwatch boasts apps support that promises to enhance the overall experience. As a start, we've got few apps that will make its way with the watch but many more are expected, according to Samsung. Some software-side optimisations include Smart Relay, S Voice, Voice Memo, Memographer.
The watch has a battery life of up to 25 hours (with regular usage) and features single-core 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB storage, a 315mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.3 LE, a gyroscope and accelerometer.
