SamMobile Recap: High-end flip phones, KitKat updates, Galaxy S5 Prime leaks, and more

There’s a lot of stuff that happens in the tech industry, something that is especially true when it comes to giants like Samsung. If you missed out on some (or all) of what happened in the last 24 hours or so, well, here’s a recap of all the big things that went down.

Samsung announced plans to bring fingerprint scanners and other biometric security hardware to cheaper devices, and also launched yet another flip phone that we could have done without, over in China. A possible Galaxy S5 Prime variant showed up in benchmarks with a 1080p display and Android 4.4.3, while the Galaxy S5 saw a price cut in India and got launched on two new carriers in the US.

Android 4.4 KitKat began rolling out to the Galaxy Note 8.0‘s Wi-Fi variant, while Samsung's upcoming AMOLED tablets got confirmed via an app's changelog. Elsewhere, Apple and Samsung reportedly started talking about settlement in all their patent quarrels, something we're sure will not bring out anything positive and only serve to delay the two companies a tad before they go back to court.

Here's the full rundown:

As usual, a lot of devices got firmware updates as well, so here’s a list of all the updates that rolled to Samsung devices yesterday (as always, you can find all the firmware you need in our firmware section):
