We might have to wait before a full-fledged agreement comes along but a good step forward came by last week as both Samsung and Apple decided to drop their appeal against the USITC ruling. According to Foss Patents, Samsung voluntarily came forward to dismiss its appeal and after the motion was granted for Samsung, Apple requested the dismissal of its own appeal.
As the site points out, while the dismissal of the appeal will withhold the sales ban on some Samsung products, there is not much out to gain for Apple.
Both companies will focus on the California district court case ruling.
