Samsung may be pro-Tizen for its smartwatch range but according to a report by CNET, the Korean giant is expected to introduce its first Android Wear smartwatch at the Google I/O next week. There’s not much information on the model (except that it might launch as the Galaxy Wear and sport model number SM-R382), though CNET’s sources maintain that Samsung has developed Android Wear smartwatch variants that use Samsung’s own SoC and another one that use Qualcomm’s processor.

Samsung’s Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo run a smartwatch-optimised Tizen OS out of the box and Samsung recently pushed an update to transform the Android-running Galaxy Gear to Tizen that leads to better battery life.

Google I/O is a two-day event starting on June 25.
