A couple of months back Google rolled out Android 4.4.4 KitKat, it was merely an incremental update that brought many important bug fixes and performance improvements. The update was immediately released for Google's Nexus devices and many OEMs then followed suit. Samsung has lagged behind somewhat and users with carrier locked devices have had to wait for considerably longer as always.
Nevertheless, there is some good news after all. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.4 update has been released by Verizon for customers in the U.S. The release comes merely a week after Samsung pushed out this update for Galaxy S3 Neo in Kazakhstan and just yesterday Sprint rolled it out for its Galaxy Note 3 variant.
Australian carrier Optus has also released the Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.4 KitKat update so users down under can also get on the latest iteration of Google's mobile OS. It remains to be seen when other carriers, particularly those in the U.S., follow suit.
