Samsung's all-metal Galaxy A5 has finally gone up for sale, at least in the Chinese market, almost a month after it was made official by the Korean manufacturer. The phone can be purchased for $420 (2,599 CNY) – that's a fairly good price for the hardware on offer, though naturally it's not the cheapest and will be beset by cheaper, more feature-packed devices from Chinese companies like Xiaomi. For those that don't remember, the Galaxy A5 features an all-metal unibody and is the thinnest Samsung smartphone (at 6.7mm), matched only by the Galaxy Alpha.

Other specs of the Galaxy A5 include a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of expandable internal storage, LTE connectivity, dual SIM slots, and a 2,300mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, with features like Ultra Power Saving Mode and an option to change between four themes, something that hasn't been seen on any other Samsung Android smartphone before.

As we exclusively revealed earlier, production issues mean it could be some time before the Galaxy A5 comes to markets outside China, though India and other Asian countries should be next in line. Let us know if you're planning to purchase the Galaxy A5 when it becomes available in your region, and whether you think that $420 price tag is justified.
