Over the past few years Samsung has unveiled new Galaxy Note handsets at the IFA convention in Berlin which takes place every September, there was no reason to believe otherwise until we came to know that this time around Samsung is not sticking to the same release timeframe. Instead the company is going to go for an early release possibly hoping that this would aid in holding off competition from the new iPhones that are due this September.

Citing industry sources a report out of Korea today suggests that Samsung is going to hold its event for the Galaxy Note 5 on August 13 in New York, however we have exclusively reported about a week back that the event is actually going to take place on August 12 with the handset being released shortly after in select markets on August 21. Samsung will also launch the Galaxy S6 edge+ alongside the Galaxy Note 5 which is basically an enlarged version of the Galaxy S6 edge. Galaxy Note 5 is going to feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with an Exynos 7422 processor underneath hooked up to 4GB RAM. It will have a 16-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization and 5-megapixel front camera. The S Pen will be present but there's confusion regarding its mechanism, whether it will be auto-eject or push-to-release, we'll find out soon enough.
