Samsung's browser app for its Android smartphones and tablets recently got API support for ad blockers, and we saw a couple of ad blocking apps go live with support for the same. Soon after, Google removed the Adblock Fast plugin from the Play Store, stating violation of the store's developer rules and agreements. None of the other plugins were taken off the Play Store, and the internet giant has now reinstated Adblock Fast as well.
Google makes a lot of its revenue from ads and as such it doesn't allow ad blockers to be available on the Play Store. But that rule only applies to apps that block ads across the operating system, so Adblock Fast never was in violation of the regulations as it only blocks ads on websites inside Samsung's Internet app. But in any case, it's good to see Google was quick to bring Adblock Fast back online, with the app now available from the Play Store at the source link.
