As expected, Canada’s second-largest operator, Telus, has today started rolling out the rather hefty Android 6.0.1 update to the Galaxy S5. The upgrade weighs in at approximately 820MB and brings all the functionality we’ve come to expect from Marshmallow, in addition to patches from April's Security Maintenance Release (SMR).
This rollout comes just one week after Samsung distributed an identical update to all unlocked variants of the Galaxy S5 located in Germany and Italy, and two weeks after it pushed out the same upgrade in India. Seeing as the firmware has now broken cover in North America, it shouldn’t be too much longer until carriers in the United States start porting the OTA to their models of the device.
