It has been revealed today that Samsung has entered into an agreement to acquire luxury home appliance manufacturer Dacor. It's currently unclear why the South Korean company is purchasing the firm, but we believe that it will utilize Dacor's branding, credibility, and resources to manufacture innovative products for the luxury IoT market.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn't disclosed the price of the transaction. It has confirmed, however, that upon completion of the acquisition, Dacor will instantly operate as a “wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics America and will maintain its corporate identity and brand, with no changes to its operations and US-based manufacturing.”
