We recently confirmed that Samsung is working on the Nougat update for the Galaxy A5 (2016) along with a bunch of other A series handsets. Australian carrier Optus has now begun testing the said update, with the commercial rollout expected to begin by the end of January. The phone is currently running Android 6.0.1.
Going by this revelation, it's possible that the rest of the world will also see the update around the same time, although nothing can be confirmed at this point.
The Galaxy A5 received a security update to patch to what was considered a “critical flaw” not too long ago. While the company didn't publicly announce what the critical flaw was, it was relieving for the customers to know that it was fixed for good.
