Samsung may have detailed the February 2017 security patch today but that doesn't mean that last month's patch is out for all of its supported devices, particularly the ones that are locked to carriers. T-Mobile has started rolling out the January security patch for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge today.
Magenta is rolling out firmware version G920TUVS5EQA2 and G925TUVS5EQA2 for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge respectively. Both minor updates come just under 30MB and bring just the security patch update. T-Mobile is rolling out the update over-the-air so it should go live for all those who own this handset on its network in the very near future.
For those who just can't wait for this update to arrive, there's another way, but for that they have to be okay with manually flashing their handset. These latest updates are now available from our firmware section, click here to download it for the T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and here for the Galaxy S6 edge. Those who are not comfortable with doing this can just wait as it shouldn't be too long before they receive the OTA notification on their handset.
