Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S3 today at its press conference, bringing AKG audio for great acoustic sound. This audio experience is a direct result of Samsung's acquisition of Harman International and AKG falls under its umbrella. Tab S3 users can experience this new audio now, but Samsung intends to bring this feature to all of the “Galaxy,” including its smartphone lineup. Future Galaxy smartphones will come with AKG audio right out of the box. Samsung developed its own custom, in-house chip for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, but AKG audio has been a proven and trusted name in the audio business for over 70 years. Samsung will integrate AKG acoustics and make its own in-house sound even better.

AKG audio stands out because of its distraction-free and distortion-free listening experience. AKG Acoustics, the company purchased by Harman whose technology comes under Samsung's power from its most recent acquisition, was the best choice for Samsung's product lineup.

Executive VP and Mobile Marketing and Wearable and Accessory Head Younghee Lee says that the collaboration was done to achieve the ideal audio experience for Samsung customers. “For a totally immersive experience, we wanted the best performance in audio – and we achieved that through this exciting collaboration, giving Galaxy users the ability to fully enjoy enhanced listening experiences across Samsung's mobile portfolio.”
