T-Mobile offered Galaxy S8 customers who pre-ordered the handset a free Gear VR with Controller. That was a limited time offer only for those who pre-ordered the flagship. It's now offering the virtual reality headset to any and all customers who purchase a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ from Magenta.

T-Mobile customers who purchase the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ by May 14 will be eligible for a free Samsung Gear VR with Controller. The carrier does explain on the FAQ page that this promotion is also valid for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets bought between April 21 and April 27.

Priced at $129, the Samsung Gear VR with Controller features a wireless controller that has a clickable touchpad, volume keys, trigger and navigation buttons. The headset has support for both microUSB and USB Type-C ports so it's compatible with devices like the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 as well.

Customers who purchase the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on T-Mobile's Equipment Installment Plan, JUMP! On Demand or at full retail price will be eligible for this promotion. Participating locations include Costco, T-Mobile dealers, military store, T-Mobile.com, telesales and Customer Care.

More information about this promotion is available on T-Mobile's FAQ page for the Galaxy S8.
