After teasing a new Galaxy On series smartphone on Flipkart, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy On Max in India. The On Max is the same as the Galaxy J7 Max and has been rebranded for online sales (check out our hands-on of the Galaxy J7 Max here), similar to the Galaxy On NXT from last year. Priced at INR 16,900 (approximately $262), the device will be exclusively available for purchase through online retailer Flipkart.
The Galaxy On Max (SM-G615F) features a 5.7-inch Full HD TFT display, a 1.6GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK P25 Lite processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, a metal unibody design, and a 3300 mAh battery. The device comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 13-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture. Both cameras are accompanied by an LED flash. It's a dual-SIM smartphone which is compatible with LTE networks. Other connectivity features include GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The phone comes equipped with a fingerprint reader embedded into its home button. It comes preloaded with Samsung Pay Mini (with support for UPI and Paytm) and Social Camera (with Instant Share, Live Filters, and Stickers). It is 8.1mm thin and weighs 178 grams. It will be available in Black and Gold, and will go on sale on July 10. Consumers purchasing the device using a Standard Chartered credit or debit card will be eligible for a discount of INR 2,000 (approximately $31).
