Samsung detailed the August security patch recently. The latest security maintenance release for recent Galaxy smartphones from Samsung couples fixes for 12 vulnerabilities in Samsung's software with fixes for more than two dozen Android OS vulnerabilities provided by Google.
We reported earlier today that Samsung has already started rolling out the August security patch. It may have released the update before Google as the August security update for the Galaxy J7 Prime was released on the first day of the month.
We're now seeing the patch trickle down the line for other smartphones. Samsung has started rolling out the August security patch for the Galaxy S7 edge in Mexico.
Firmware version G935FXXU1DQH3 is now being rolled out for the Galaxy S7 edge in Mexico. It comes with the August security patch. This is likely the first firmware release for the Galaxy S7 edge to feature the latest patches.
Now that Samsung has started rolling out the latest security patch, it's only a matter of time before we see the August security patch being released for more Galaxy smartphones.
This particular firmware update, the one that Samsung has released for the Galaxy S7 edge in Mexico, is available for download now from our firmware section.
Thanks, Henk!
