Samsung will soon unveil an updated version of the activity tracker that it launched last year. Quite a lot of details about the new Gear Fit2 Pro were leaked online recently. We're now seeing information about the price that Samsung is likely going to charge for this wearable device.
Serial gadget leakster Evan Blass a.k.a @evleaks has tweeted a picture of the Gear Fit2 Pro's price that will be charged by a big box retailer in the United States. The Gear Fit2 Pro is apparently going to cost $199.99. That's $20 more than last year's Gear Fit 2 which was sold for $179.99.
But then again, you get what you pay for. The Gear Fit2 Pro is an improved version of last year's fitness tracker. It has support for 5 ATM water resistance so it can be fully submerged in water and offers tracking functionality for swimming workouts.
It's also reportedly going to have support for music playback, even offline support for Spotify. Samsung is said to offer the Gear Fit2 Pro with a watch-style clasp so that the tracker remains secure even during rigorous workouts.
The company is reportedly going to launch the Gear Fit2 Pro alongside the Galaxy Note 8 at its launch event in New York City on August 23.
