There have been rumors recently that Samsung could be working on a new wearable device. While the company confirmed its new Gear Fit2 Pro fitness tracking wearable today, it's also going to unveil a new Gear smartwatch in the very near future.
Towards the end of its Galaxy Note 8 launch event today, Samsung confirmed that it's going to launch the successor to the Gear S3 smartwatch at IFA 2017 in Berlin next week.
The company has historically unveiled new Gear devices at the IFA trade show so it's not surprising to see that the Gear S3's successor will be launched there as well. It hasn't confirmed if the new smartwatch will be called Gear S4.
There aren't a lot of details available at this point in time about Samsung's new wearable device. One can expect that it's going to come with Bixby, the virtual smart assistant that was launched globally just yesterday.
The usual updates like a faster processor and improved battery life can be expected as well. Whether or not it will have major design changes compared to the Gear S3 remains to be seen.
We'll be on the ground in Berlin to bring you all of the latest updates from IFA 2017 when Samsung unveils its next-generation Gear smartwatch.
