Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 8 a couple of weeks ago, and pre-orders for the device went live in some key markets such as the US and the UK. The company seems to have started shipping the phone to a few customers already. It now appears that the company is ready to launch its latest phablet in the Indian market.
The pre-registrations for the Galaxy Note 8 have now begun on Samsung India's website. Pre-registration is different from pre-orders, and only includes potential customers filling information such as name, email ID, and phone number. It is being speculated that the South Korean smartphone giant is planning to launch the phablet in mid-September and start selling it on September 25.
Samsung could price the Galaxy Note 8 somewhere between INR 69,990 (approx. $1,094) and INR 74,900 (approx. $1,173) in India. If this turns out to be true, it could end up being one of the costliest phones ever launched by the company. It is also being reported that Samsung could initially sell the Galaxy Note 8 in India only in Black and Gold.
The Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch QHD+ Infinity Display, Exynos 8895 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, an S Pen, and a 3,300 mAh battery. The dual-camera setup includes a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens and f/1.7 aperture and a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Both camera sensors are equipped with OIS, an industry first in smartphones.
