Verizon has today released the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update—T377VVRU1CQH9—for the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 in the United States, following US Cellular's rollout for its carrier-branded variant of the slate, which shipped running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, last week.
The upgrade transports all of the features you'd expect to find baked into Nougat, including enhanced notifications, stricter application permissions, additional emoji and refined battery saving tools, as well as the security patches included in August's Security Maintenance Release (SMR).

It's impressive that both Samsung and local carriers have assisted the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 in its jump from Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and now to Android 7.1.1 Nougat during its year and a half on the market, though it's likely the last major update it will receive.
How do I install the Nougat update on my Galaxy Tab E 8.0?
We should point out that it can take up to a week for the upgrade to reach your Galaxy Tab E 8.0, so don't panic if it doesn't show up right away. To check to see if it's ready for your unit, head into Settings, select About Device, then tap Download Updates Manually.
