Great news for Samsung Pay customers in the United Kingdom: You can now add your American Express card to the payment platform to start making payments in both brick-and-mortar and online stores using your smartphone—or smartwatch.

At the beginning of the month, Samsung Pay was updated with support for Co-op Bank, one of the United Kingdom's largest financial institutions, and less than four months before that compatibility for HSBC and M&S Bank was added.

It can take anywhere from 24-hours to 96-hours for the server-side upgrade to reach your handset, but as soon as it does, you'll be able to add your American Express card to Samsung Pay to start processing contactless payments (up to £30).

Samsung Pay works with the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and more

As we're sure you're aware, Samsung Pay is available on a flurry of smartphones in the region, including the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6. It can also be accessed using the Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier.
