Samsung is now rolling out a new Galaxy S6 edge update that brings the October security patch. The company detailed the latest security maintenance release a couple of weeks back. It has since been released for several devices. Samsung has already released the October security patch for devices like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.

Now, it's the Galaxy S6 edge's turn. The October security patch is now being rolled out for the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925F) in the United Kingdom.

Galaxy S6 edge Update

Samsung has rolled out this Galaxy S6 edge firmware in the United Kingdom. Firmware version G925FXXU5EQI8 is now being distributed over-the-air. Galaxy S6 edge owners should soon receive an update notification on their handset if they haven't already.

This Galaxy S6 edge update has only been released in the United Kingdom so far. It's only a matter of time before it's rolled out in other markets as well. It shouldn't take more than a few days for this to happen now.

There are fixes for 215 Android OS vulnerabilities in the October security patch. Also included are patches for six vulnerabilities in Samsung's software.

The latest Galaxy S6 edge update is now rolling out over-the-air in the United Kingdom. The firmware file is also available for download from our firmware section.
