The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) have been sitting on Android 7.0 Nougat for a tad too long at this point, but Samsung doesn't seem to be very active in making the Oreo update for these devices as widely available as possible. But since the debut of the Galaxy A8 (2018) Oreo update, it has been released in a few more countries in recent days. For the A8 (2018), the update is available in the Netherlands, Poland, the UAE, and Switzerland. The A8+ (2018) update can be downloaded in India and the UAE.
Galaxy A8 (2018) Oreo update comes to more markets
The A8 (2018) seems to be getting the update in more countries than the A8+, which shouldn't be surprising as the A8+ doesn't get monthly security updates, either, unlike the A8. But the rollout should spread to more markets in the coming days for both devices, as these are the last of the eligible A series phones to be getting Android 8.0 Oreo. Of course, it may be a while before every Galaxy A8 (2018) owner is running Oreo, although we hope it's before Android 9.0 P comes knocking.
If you are using either device in one of the countries mentioned above, you should be able to download the update from the Settings » Software update menu on your phone. You can also try downloading the update on a PC via Samsung's Smart Switch program. Our firmware database also has the Android 8.0 Oreo firmware available (A8 | A8+) in case you don't see it over the air or through Smart Switch.
Have you updated to Oreo on your A8 or A8+ yet?
