Earlier this year, Samsung announced the Notebook Odyssey Z gaming laptop with Intel’s 8th generation hexa-core processors. More than five months after the announcement, it is finally available for purchase in the US. Unlike smartphones, Samsung sells PCs only in a few markets, so it is doubtful if this machine sees a wider release beyond a handful of regions.
The Notebook Odyssey Z comes in only one configuration with a 15.6-inch FHD display, Intel Core i7 8750H hexa-core processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256 GB NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics card, and Windows 10 Home. The laptop is available for purchase on the Samsung online store, Amazon, and Microsoft Store for $1,800.

The device features Z AeroFlow Cooling System for improved thermal management and consistent performance. While not exactly an ultrabook, it is thin and light by gaming laptop standards. Though the Notebook Odyssey Z is aimed at gamers, the specifications makes it ideal for video editing, 3D rendering, and other resource-intensive tasks as well.
“The Notebook Odyssey Z was engineered to enhance the gaming experience wherever you are – take it anywhere, play without overheating, and use it for the most intense games and projects,” said Alanna Cotton, Senior Vice President of Mobile Computing and Enhancements, Samsung America.
