Just a couple of days after it was reported that the Samsung Notebook 9 Pen is performing well, the company has launched its successor. The new Notebook 9 Pen announced today is also being offered in a 15-inch size in addition to the old 13-inch model.
The 15-inch size was previously only available for the regular Notebook 9. It will now be available for this convertible 2-in-1 model that ships with a built-in S Pen. As before, the body has an all-metal and aluminum frame for a stylish and durable shell.
New Notebook 9 Pen also comes in a 15-inch size
It comes with the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB SSD. The 15-inch model also gets an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics chip. Both feature 802.11ac Wi-Fi, AKG stereo speakers with ThunderAmp, HD IR Camera, facial and fingerprint recognition.
ThunderAmp is Samsung's new smart amplifier technology. It lets users smoothly increase the volume to the maximum for each of the built-in stereo speakers. There's also a backlit keyboard, two Thunderbolt 3 ports and one USB-C port and a 54Wh battery. The battery has fast-charging capability and is said to last for up to 15 hours.
The S Pen is a big selling point for this laptop and Samsung has made some improvements on this front as well. It says that latency has been reduced by 2x compared to the previous model. It's even offering multiple user replaceable tips for the S Pen. The stylus gets stored directly into the notebook and doesn't need to be charged. It's got a new paint job as well which matches the blue and gold S Pen introduced with the Galaxy Note 9.
The new Notebook 9 Pen is going to be available in South Korea from tomorrow. It will be released in the United States, Brazil, China and Hong Kong by early next year.
