Samsung could launch the Galaxy S10 in India on March 6th, two days before the phone is expected to go on sale in countries like the US and South Korea. The information comes via a report from the folks over at 91Mobiles, who cite a Samsung distributor as their source. March 6th is also the date on which the Galaxy S9 and S9+ were announced in India last year, but sales of the S10 will apparently start on March 15th, a day earlier than when the S9 and S9+ went on sale in the country.
The report also suggests that pricing for the three S10 models in India will vary wildly. The flat screen-toting Galaxy S10e's price will reportedly start at ₹50,000 (roughly $700), the S10 will cost around ₹65,000 (roughly $910), and the S10+ will start at ₹75,000 (roughly $1,050). While the prices for the S10 and S10+ seem logical and in line with Samsung's current pricing strategy for its flagships in India, pricing for the Galaxy S10e seems to be rather low.
With the European pricing for the smallest model expected to start at €750, it seems unlikely Samsung will offer the device to Indian consumers for a considerably lower price. Of course, it's not completely out of the realm of possibility, since the lack of a curved screen and in-display fingerprint sensor along with fewer rear cameras and a smaller battery do make the S10e considerably less feature-packed than its bigger siblings.
More details about the Indian launch should show up as we inch closer to the Galaxy S10's official unveiling, and that goes for the launch in other markets as well. In some countries, Samsung will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S10 from February 21, a couple of weeks ahead of the March 8 release date.
