Samsung has been releasing the April 2019 security update to more and more devices each day. The Galaxy J4, Galaxy J2 Pro, and Tab S3 are the latest batch of Samsung devices to get this update. These devices have started receiving the said update in various markets around the world in the last couple of days.
Among these, the Galaxy J4 update is more widely available compared to the other two devices. The update for the J4 is already out in Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Panama, and a few other regions. The J2 Pro, meanwhile, seems to be receiving the update only in Mexico on Telcel. Similarly, the update for the Galaxy Tab S3 is also not yet widely available and is released only in the UK so far.
While we cannot say for certain, it is doubtful the April update brings anything more than security patches to these devices. The April 2019 Security Maintenance Release (SMR) fixes five critical and dozens of high-risk Android OS vulnerabilities, along with fifteen Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items of varying severity.
If you own one of the above devices, you can check for the update by going to Settings and clicking on the Download updates manually option under the Software update menu.
