The Sprint Galaxy S10 5G release date has officially been confirmed today. It's the second carrier in the United States to offer Samsung's first 5G smartphone to customers. AT&T did make a similar announcement yesterday but it's only offering the device to business customers and developers initially.

Verizon was the first carrier to sell the Galaxy S10 5G in the United States. The carrier actually had exclusivity on the 5G variant for a few weeks. It's evident now that the exclusivity has now run its course.

Sprint Galaxy S10 5G release date is June 21

Sprint confirmed today that customers will be able to get the Galaxy S10 5G on its network starting June 21. It will initially be available only in the four markets where Sprint's mobile 5G service launched late last month. The list includes Houston, Atlanta, Dallas and Kansas City. The handset will be available in other 5G markets like New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. in the coming weeks.

Those who are interested in picking one up can place their pre-orders starting today on Sprint's website. They can save $250 with the pre-order and then pay $40.28 per month with $0 down on the Sprint Flex Lease program for 18 months. The device costs $1,299 outright.

New Sprint customers will have to activate the 5G handset on its Unlimited Premium plan. It costs $80 per month per line and includes unlimited data, talk and text. That's in addition to Amazon Prime, Hulu, Twitch Prime and Tidal HiFi access as well as 100GB of LTE mobile hotspot.

Sprint is also working with Hatch to provide 5G game streaming experiences for the Galaxy S10 5G. Samsung already launched the Hatch app for this device in the United States. It enables Galaxy S10 5G owners to play games like Hitman Go and Monument Valley over streaming without having to install them.
